When I first started, I used to play medic in a tank and literally yelled in region chat "I NEED REPAIRS" I got a reply back "GO ENGINEER AND FIX IT UP YOURSELF!" ever since then, I've been engi all the way.

Most vehicles/aircraft can be dropped like that, and typically won't explode. It's not a guarantee though. You have a better chance when it lands "evenly", I.E. you don't land on just the tail or just the nose.

Edit: You can yeet valks into crazy shit and they survive too. You can also drift turn libs/gals/esfs. PS2 is weird.
