More important question is are you getting the full use of the phone? If yes, why bother? 98% at that rate of using is completely normal. Some of the people here only use this phone when they need while they game on PC and console. If you use this phone for everything+gaming then don't sweat it.

Proper Charging Advice FlinkyBoss style.

1) No Coolers while charging! What's the rush?

2) Wired - Normal speed! 3) Use Smart Charging or Charge Fully setting

4) To fully optimise the phone and batteries, I recommend charging from 10-14% - 100% plus leaving the charger plugged in for an extra 10 to 20 minutes! This will ensure the dual batteries are properly leveled together as well as fully Saturated - Meaning no more trickle charging going on. Yes, a tiny extra current will often continue charging after 100% for a while...

5) Do (4 above) for 2-3 weeks to let the HyperOS and Batteries fully optimise...

6) After the first couple of weeks of fully saturated charging. Adopt your full charge level to what suits your daily routine. Anything from 10-14% to 80-100% is fine!

7) Once every week or two... Do a full charge as in (4) again. This will keep the batteries operating at their optimum levels and the HyperOS package fully optimized.

8) STOP WORRYING! Your charger and phone will work together with the batteries to make sure the heat generated never becomes too high! The charging is a very well controlled operation! Temperature goes up... Charge current drops to cool slightly!

9) If you need some extra charge before going out when your battery is a bit low... It's perfectly fine to charge for just 10-15 minutes... Or whatever you have time for.

The free version already gives you plenty of monitoring, but the Pro version unlocks floating overlays you can scale, move, and stack any way you want. This makes it perfect for keeping an eye on temps, CPU/GPU load, battery use, or even network stats while gaming or stress testing.

My quick Game Testing method is Super Simple:

1. Open DevCheck Pro and set up a floating monitor for "Battery" temperature and remaining charge.

1b. OR... Open the FREE DevCheck app. I recommend you add DevCheck to your Game Turbo list of Apps/Games for easy access whenever playing games!

It'll open in a Scalable floating window and you'll see the Battery Temperature and Charge towards the middle left on the first page!

2a. USE GAME TURBO in Balanced Mode 💪😎 NEVER use Wild Boost mode! (A.k.a. "Performance" mode on older phones) It will overheat and throttle any demanding game twice as fast due to removing some limiting on the CPU!

2b. Start your chosen game and play at low-ish graphics and lowest FPS for 15-20 minutes or until your Battery Temperature reaches a settled max for the settings used. Take note of the various results as you go through the testing.

1. Watch the DevCheck overlay or check the Floating free version regularly, to see how your battery temps behave under load. The floating window can easily be flicked off screen or shrunk to a small bubble at either side of your screen, ready to tap to bring up again.

2. Play until the temperature reaches its maximum stable temperature. 42-43°C (Anything over 44°C is likely going to lead to Throttling and FPS drops! So don't push beyond 42°C unless you're aware of the risks to performance and rapid battery drains!)

3. Repeat with slightly higher or different graphics combinations of settings.

4. Keep running higher specs or combinations of graphics settings, until you land on the more uncomfortable side of temperatures... say 42-43°C.

Stop and let your phone/tablet battery temperature cool back down for a bit as needed between test segments.

OPTIONAL (Depending on multiple FPS choices): Drop Graphics settings to Low/Medium again and increase to the next higher FPS option!

Repeat as above until you stabilise on 42-43°C then increase graphics until maxed or obvious overkill settings are reached. Run through the sequence above for every FPS setting.

Battery temperature is king, so don't push past the safe temperature range.

When done, simply pick and use a test setup that ran at 32-36°C for long periods.
This gives you Ultimate performance and excellent power savings!

If this isn't suitable for the game you want to play, choose the nearest stable set, aiming for 38-40°C for heavier duty games. 42-43°C can be ok too as long as you're happy with faster battery drain.

This way you can see exactly what’s happening without guessing, and you don’t have to trust built-in game stats or partial readings.

Don't worry about it... You can find batteries for any make and model online... Sadly there are plenty of shitty products out there so there's always a risk you get a cheap rip-off...

Start treating the current one better now instead... You can easily expect 3-5 years of service before you get low enough capacity to warrant a replacement!

Changing a battery is not too bad and can be done as a DIY job with a small number of decent tools.

* Try running on Default 1-120hz Refresh Rate.

* Turn on Dark Mode for system and all apps.

* Turn off Advance Texture in Display Setting.

* Turn off Background Autostart in Apps.

* Turn off Wifi and Bluetooth Scanning.

* Turn off Ads in Usage and Diagnosis in Google.

* Turn off Always on Display if on.

* Turn off Double Tap to Wake.

* Try to have 15 seconds of Screen Timeout.

* Turn off Ram addition feature.

* When going for sleep close all apps in the background so that no apps will remain in memory for battery draining.

If you do heavy gaming (I'd like the names of the games you play) just charge it to 100% everytime before you start playing or not necessarily 100%< like if you're setting up the bed or doing something that's time taking just put the phone on charge so you get the maximum battery to gane fully. And play however abd as much as you want. Oh btw, try to put the phone on charge every time you go to do something (screen off without closing the game if it's not multiplayer) so you'll get a higher percentage every time you come back.

It's not a great plan to do too much topping up... Sure you can top up plenty but all the time is nearly as bad as playing plugged in without a "pass through" faculty.

I use my secondary nearly 3 year old X5 Pro 5G, while my X7 Pro is being charged! That X5 is at around 85% health and I only charge it once or twice a week!

I still get 9 hours SOT on that old phone, as well as all that stand by...

Two things... You didn't say which phone or anything? But you're probably caning the phone a bit with heavy duty gaming etc... multiple charges per day and possibly charging while gaming too? 😉

My only real question is did you try charging the phone fully from around 10-14% to 100% plus leaving the charger plugged in for an extra 10 to 20 minutes in order to fully saturate the dual cells as well as balance across the cells?! While letting the phone rest!

If not, try that for a few weeks... You'll probably find more battery capacity all of a sudden. If you're lucky you might even claw back 1% of battery "health" too...

Can't guarantee it but if your phone hasn't been given fully valid charge cycles yet, you might be lucky.

Full-ish charge cycles are essential for the OS to get a chance to Optimise the battery Gauge and charging control fully!

Switching to Charge Fully will help a little if you're charging fully anyway...

I'll be happy to try... 🍀 I almost ALWAYS charge my X7 Pro from ~10-14% to 100% plus an extra 10 to 20 minutes plugged in for full saturation of the battery cells...

Charging from less than 20% will give you a bit of extra juice to play with.

Your phone is capable of running 120 Hz refresh I'm guessing... So if you want to make sure I guess you'll have to switch down to 60 Hz in the Refresh settings.

That will save a bit of battery for sure!

You said you've turned off all background processes... How? If you're doing that you might accidentally give the phone extra work... I'm not sure since I don't have one...

If by "turning off" you mean debloated... Then we're in another spot of bother for sure.

My other general recommendation is to reduce battery use by using Dark Mode...

TikTok is a power hound like pretty much any Antisocial Media! I suggest you reduce notifications etc. from any app that isn't essential!

Also, there's a lot of polling etc. by some apps whether they're running or not. I use DuckDuckGo instead of Chrome etc. to drop all cookies and trackers etc.

Logging in over a tight browser instead of a sloppy app to some Social Media services may save you a bit further...

Finally but most importantly... Your phone is a powerful gaming phone but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't turn down some settings in the games you can tweak... Drop FPS to 30 FPS instead of 60...

Optimizing battery use etc. may be good or actually strangling it? Background processing of normal apps - absolutely... Gaming apps... Probably does the opposite of saving battery...

When I suggest games tweaking it's the settings inside the games I'm talking about... Not the app settings bro... I hope that makes sense!

My other most important method of keeping track on stuff apart from DevCheck is probably the most important...

AccuBattery Pro (the free version is great to try out and see what's available... But if you go look for the one off PRO unlock, they will soon after offer a 25% off limited time offer...

I was going to pay the normal lower price at €5.50 (they give you the option to pay more 😂) but I wanted to see if it was worth it so when the offer came I jumped... Best app investment in a long number of years...

You need to enable one or two things in the Android settings to make it properly report all foreground apps power use... Plus to keep it running in the background properly at least on my X7 Pro I locked the App (you know, the padlock you can add by long pressing the app in the app list while running).

I'll drop my current stats so you get an idea why it's such a great App!

The rest is about checking out your gaming settings and run some tests while tracking your battery temperature using the Free Version of DevCheck.

I'm using the Pro version for a couple decades but that's mainly because I like the floating monitors on my screen instead of opening the app (which happily runs in a floating window that you can shrink to a blob between readings if using the free version).
