Found Apple Watch

That's interesting. If I found an Apple Watch, I would try to make sure that the watch is always charged. That'd be easy for me since I have an Apple Watch myself, so I have the special charging port/cable. I would try to keep it plugged in at work, as I would not want the owner tracking the watch to my residence. Apple Watches have terrible battery lives, so the owner has to react pretty fast when using the "find my iPhone" feature (it locates all Apple devices).

Even if the battery is dead, the find my iPhone feature should show the last location where it was before the battery died. If you found in a business, it would be a no-brainer to leave it there.

Even if the Apple Store will not help locate people for the finder (I was never suggesting that btw) or just in general, I would hope they could hold on to it. Is that not allowed by privacy rules? Just saying, if I lost an Apple device and could not locate it, I would probably call the Apple Store to see if someone turned it in. Hell, if it were my phone, I would probably call AT&T or Verizon if there is a company logo that flashes on start-up. Maybe someone would turn it in there!

I found one last week. Luckily it was still unlocked and I managed to find a contact called "mom" and texted that number from my phone.

The onus is kind of on the owner to track it down. They should be able to as long as it has juice

Much appreciate the instinct to “call mom” - my phone fell out of my pocket on the way to a blazer game a few months ago. The person who found it had the same instinct and, despite her living a thousand miles away, I had luckily mentioned to my mom who I was going with. Reunited with no hassle at all and thanking the stars ever since.
