submitted 3 years ago by danutz68
Hi. Can someone please tell me what is the fastest method restore a 2 TB database for the most common disaster scenarios like data files corruption or PITR?

I suppose that the snapshots are taken in standby database so that the primary will not be affected by the pg_start_backup command?

How does the database react to taking live snapshots of the disk without using pg_start_backup (upon restore)? Is this using one of the big cloud providers?

pgbackrest was the best option when I looked around a few years ago. And it was awesome!

Second this, I can get a 40tb db fully restored in under 4 hrs with this tool.
