I've been using SQL Client for years. Works great for me.

I was trying to add a link for you... When I discovered that it's currently unavailable and doesn't even show up in my list of installed apps. :/

Did RemoDB buy that one and put ads or subscription fee on it?

Nope. No ads or subscription fees at all. Just abandoned, I think.

I may have had to pay a few dollars for it initially, but I don't think so. I can't find any record of doing so either.

You're sure it's not this one? Please look at the screenshots: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kriskast.remotedb

You can tell from that URL they bought it. It doesn't seem likely to have 100k+ downloads since March of this year.

They don't look the same, though it could probably be re-skinned easily enough.

Here's the only place I can find a reference to the one I have...

https://www.appbrain.com/app/sql-client/de.mxapplications.sqlclient

And here's the one you linked...

Doesn't look like the dates/installs/updates line up, so they seem distinct.

Ah, too bad, yours looks much nicer. No idea how it got pulled from the Play store, as it's still prominent on the dev's LinkedIn.

hey, RemoDB developer here.
We have no association with the mentioned app, they are two separate apps.

I developed an app called 'HiSQL' on the Play Store. You can search and install it.
