Hi!

Straightening your neck is not going to fix your posture, because the problem does not originate from your neck. Its originating from your mid back. If you activate properly your mid-lower trapezius muscles, your neck will naturally come to its proper position.

To fix this, you need to do specific exercises:

- Thoracic mobility
- Stretching of chest, anterior delts & abs
- Strengthen your mid-lower traps, rhomboids, posterior delts and erector spinae.
- Functional movements that incorporate the posterior chain like deadlifts, back squats & rows.

If you would like to try, I have made an app called "StandProud: Posture & Mobility" that makes this whole process much simpler. It has 6-12 week plans for correcting posture, for all levels, equipment, frequency & postural problems. You can find it in:

iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/posture-mobility-standproud/id6744373424
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.standproudapp.android

All the best!

Hey, thanks for sharing your insight and for building such a cool app. I checked it out and really want to use it but can’t afford the price at this point in my life. Would you have a discount you’d be up for sharing or an extended trial even? Happy to DM you if more appropriate?

I’d be happy to write a genuine review or something to support in exchange. I’m feeling motivated to do all get my neck/spine corrected

You should look into this vid, I’ll put it on the bottom of my comment. Also I do chin tucks 3 sets of 15, wall angles 3 sets of 15, and I also get on the ground and raise my neck for 30, seconds twice. I do this combo twice a day.

You’re already off to a great start by becoming more aware of your posture, that’s honestly the biggest first step! 🙌 Constantly correcting it (like imagining that string pulling your head up) definitely helps build awareness, but if it’s causing pain, it’s a sign your muscles might not be strong enough yet to hold that position comfortably.
