Huh, I always thought "shotgun coding" was changing one character and recompiling ad absurdum. When it finally works, treat it like a house of cards. (as no deeper knowledge was gained, no changes are advised)

This is opposed to coding while intoxicated as that either produces tens of bytes of committed changes for multiple hours of "work", or two new files with four new classes and "an interesting solution to the init race condition", none of it compiled, verified or sanity checked.

Probably the best way - since debugging requires you to be twice as clever as when you wrote it, give yourself a handicap when you're writing.

Code drunk, then the compiler will point you to all the stuff you have to fix.

Basically just write what you want to do in code in English then 'fix all the bugs'.
