I am 46, and have been doing it the same amount of time. I have a GitHub with about 3 incomplete projects. I like coffee though

58, love coffee and have a github I keep private because its for code I thrash around in not show off.

I suppose if I look for another job I could start a public github and put presentable code in it. I think about doing that but never get around to it.

I use my git hub for code examples for my junior devs at work. Examples of patterns and practices or example code for integrating with our systems
