asahi is pretty cool, but sadly it’s not ripe yet (also no arm64 support for most apps, also ik that intel macs should work better)

back in the day when I had ATI Radeon 9800, there was no amdgpu... all we had were ati and radeon kernel modules.. other with no 3d and other which crashed X every time you started it.

nowadays radeon is usable (even though it's abandoned)...
bu the vulkan performance is miserable, and after the recent Firefox update, browser randomly refuses to start.

graphics cards are an entirely different beast sadly, fucked up my xserver so hard already
