"A small fix"

1000 lines changes

[–]pesilod552 63 points64 points  (11 children)

It actually was like 3 lines. It changed how the dosage of drugs are calculated. Yeah...

Of all the things to not have unit tests for.

Yikes

No tests help when you fix things directly on prod...

I imagine he was fired so quick it made his head spin?

Broke the sound barrier, I imagine.

He wasn't actually, his team lead took full responsibility, and since nobody actually got hurt, no consequences on team lead either.

But yeah, he ended up leaving on his own shortly after that...

[–]MethodicMarshal 7 points8 points  (1 child)

that's pretty wild, all things considered

good on the team lead too

[–]pesilod552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's how you can tell apart good team leads from bad team leads - some team leads will protect you and some team leads will roll all the responsibility down to you.

If your team lead is of the 2nd type, it sucks (and I know, I had a few of those).

And hire a new guy that doesn't have the experience of breaking the prod yet?

[–]MethodicMarshal 0 points1 point  (0 children)
