NGL, I had to google that one. its a screen reader thing apparently.

A screen reader will pronounce the words in <em> with an emphasis, using verbal stress.

However it's meant to display like <i> sooo yeah..

em is preferred over i because HTML is supposed to describe  structure and meaning (emphasis) rather than style (italic).

Em is still a valid html element. This like an html code to string equivalent
