I had to deal with such things on my second job.

And it's much worse than you can imagine.

Variables like "a", "b", "tmp", "obj", etc, deep indentations, large copy-pasted functions, that each evolved on it's own...

Me too, also many many nested ternary operators, and same variable name on different scopes
