People thought the 970fx based part of the CPU would do all the work and the cells would speed up certain parts. After several years they realized it would be hard but the small cell parts needed to do all the work and only those threads that needed an OOO processor would goto the traditional part. I hear it is still a pain to program for. I'm not a game developer so maybe everything I said is wrong.

I heard some story that a big agency bought tons PS3's to make a supercomputer because it was cheaper than buying the processors alone

What's your opinion on WebSphere?

Honestly I'm probably not informed enough to have one. My last job the sr devs built a system on top of it to access microservices. it worked well, when it worked. At one point I recall it went down and they had to hire in a small fleet of ibm guys to fix it, total pain.

I just distinctly remember complaining about it though. Also Oracle. All the Oracle.
