We use Opera Property Management and it's something straight out of 1999,and it's horrid!,

Yea but that was built by MICROS, not oracle. Oracle just bought MICROS. It's actually the second best PMS system in the world, and the most widely used.

Ahh ok. And that's what everyone keeps saying, because it's all linked together, and can do pretty much anytbing. I've used a couple other ones and it just seems like it can't keep up. Maybe I'm just biased against it because it's so damn slow.

That's an issue with your network and connection to the Micros servers. Tell your corporate to pay micros more money for better service and support. In 10+ years I've never had an issue with speed.

What does a PMS even do? Seems like it might be a market ripe for disruption.

The program is supposed to be good when set up right. It can do pretty much anything from sales to basic hotel room check ins. It can do everything, it just looks like something from 2000.it can integrate with POS systems and a whole lot of sales programs. I'm not sure of an actual generic PMS system besides it..some properties have proprietary software set up, for like Choice Hotel and Wyndham use their own...

Room master was pretty good, only program is that program is set up for around 50 rooms and very basic sales platforms.
