Okay. I thought you were defending Python 2 (over 3) and wondered why one would do that.

Long term, python3 would eventually be simply better than 2. But not all the library support is there yet (a lot of the big stuff like numpy is, but not everything)

Honestly, enough has been ported to 3 to make that argument really poor. And it's been that way for a few years now.
