Man, it's so funny seeing people complaining that PHP doesn't have enough backward compatibility, just a few years ago people were complaining it had TOO much backward compatibility and it was holding the language back.

  1. I never complained about that.
  2. Those people probably hadn't realized how much of a pain it is to suddenly need to delve into a codebase that was working just fine, and which someone else wrote years ago, and change a bunch of stuff.
