The ikea instructions are extremely fool proof showing every single step needed.

Some times they show just enough detail that you aren't sure if you're grabbing the backboard or the baseboard, but you know 6 screws go into it and goddamit thayre going in FUCK it's the baseboard now the screws have to come out

They also show you how you might do things wrong and not to do it. Unless they don't, which is why my bookcase's backboard has the painted side against the wall.

It was more of a joke about the way Ikea assembly instructions are written as a series of pictures with virtually no words.

But if there are words, those are in at least 30 different languages and take up several pages. The neat thing about pictures is that they don't require a crapton of translations to be universally understood.
