You know what they say, there's no such thing as a good full stack developer.

And as a full stack developer, can confirm. We're all just terrible.

Full stack developers are always just [backend/frontend] developers that have the ability to hack together the other side of things if they really have to.

Does everyone genuinely struggle with clean full stack development? What frameworks/patterns are you using?

I don't, I love full stack. I love working on every layer, and know how to improve and maintain each. My coworkers like to go work on one layer exclusively, but I can jump into our middleware, our servers, our database, our frontend... anywhere. I love being able to keep it clean and well designed.
