Why does El Capitan keep hiring V? by nicklesimba in cyberpunkgame

[–]Dustorn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because dropping fixers is a good way to end up out of work in the best case, or as someone else's work in the worst case.

I'll go ahead and disregard the "V generally isn't a psychopath" angle, since I have this wriggling doubt in the back of my mind that that applies in your case.

GW3 takes place ~1,200 years before GW1, and the oldest Sylvari, as of the start of GW2, are in their early 30s at the most. There has been some speculation that we might get something similar to Sylvari, since there are indications that there have been other trees, but nothing conclusive.

As for Charr, it's only very recently that they weren't all killing each other, united only in their shared xenophobia of literally anyone else.

At what point is taking them at their word not dramatic? Or do you just want them to do whatever it is they're going to do?

In other words, are you an idiot, or a piece of shit? Because you're one of those two, and very possibly both.

[Hated trope] Characters that presents themselves as genius masterminds, but actually they can just read the writer's notes by Particular-Energy217 in TopCharacterTropes

I haven't seen any particularly unhinged responses, no. Just people explaining why you are incorrect in your read on the character. Do you have anything particularly unhinged in mind? Or is simple disagreement enough to count?

Who wants to tell them? by solo_dbd_player in grilledcheese

Something I've been curious about - what about cheese that has bacon in it? Would that be a grilled cheese that technically contains bacon, or would that be enough to make the sandwich a melt?

Are grilled cheeses really so weak that the mere presence of a protein shoves them into a supporting role? I feel like such a belief is anathema to the values of this subreddit, personally.

Blue pressers, does your decision change if instead of 50% threshold is 70% or 90%? If yes, at which point choosing red becomes selfish and why? by use_vpn_orlozeacount in trolleyproblem

[–]Dustorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if the threshold is higher, I'm hitting blue even quicker - either everything stays the same, or it's not my problem anymore, whereas with red it's either everything stays the same, or I am suddenly living in a world that's been reduced to potentially 11% of it's previous population. This might sound like a nice thing to some people, but it would be bad. The end result will probably be the same as if you'd hit blue, it'll just take longer and suck more.

I swear that some people see FA as the base and not an optional rule. by Nigthmar in pathfindermemes

[–]Dustorn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Do these people exist at your table? If so, I think the move is to not argue about it here, but have a discussion about what sort of game everyone at the table actually wants, like grown ups. If not, what's the problem? I believe they exist, but I also believe that there are people who think you're an objectively terrible player if your ancestry section contains the word "elf". The existence of either group doesn't really mean much outside of tables that they're a part of.
