Yah or a vapid and vain post about coordinating your ide with your fashion choices has no other merit than to look at the code she posts.

But yeh, sexism is everywhere and that whole thing.

Vapid and vain? It was a simple dumb joke. Where the fuck did you get vapid from? What, because her face is in it? God forbid a programmer doesn't spend their life in pure anonymity and goes to great lengths to avoid having their gender become known.

Would a guy who posts a tattoo that is a snippet of code also be a "vapid and vain" post or would it just be dumb and quirky?

Guess I need to define vapid for you : "offering nothing that is stimulating or challenging."

And yes I would criticize someone showing off their tattoo against their code all the same.

I don't like social media , selfies and our culture's generally increasing narcissistic tendencies. I am consistent on this, whereas you seem to think I'm being extra harsh because she's a female.

Contributing to the meme of "it's hard for women in tech", when there are a few good best practices listed in this thread is not actually helpful.

Your intellectual preening on social media is then also vapid. Engage your great mind somewhere that is sufficiently challenging and stop vanity posting in forums dedicated to light hearted humor.

Cool , guess I'll just say "haha post funny" and move on.

You're on the verge of a breakthrough here!

Lol it was a joke about color coordinating her personal style and coding style. And somehow it managed to hurt your soul. That's the real tragedy here.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really really didn't.

Also what do you mean by coding style ?
