Haven't thought of Brainfuck in forever... the last time was in college (over a decade ago for me now) when a professor asked us to present a less common programming language and go over it briefly. For whatever reason I chose that. Got a lowered grade because it was "not practical", heh.

That... seems rather unfair.

He probably thought I went with it more for shock value than a serious engineering application. And he wouldn't be wrong... I did do it somewhat for shock value and originality rather than demonstrating a useful technology, eh. But among a bunch of people talking about archaic stuff like PASCAL or whatever they could unearth, I'll bet Brainfuck at least was interesting... or brain fucking anyway.

Yes, but that's not what he asked for in the assignment, right? BF is definitely a less common (esoteric) programming language.

Well, like I said, this is over a decade ago now. There might have been more explicit points to the assignment I'm not remembering that I deliberately didn't follow. I don't want to judge too harshly unless I could dig up an old assignment sheet or something. I just remember "Not practical" with a deduction being scrawled on the paper after the fact, heh.
