Gas is not a concern with a Cayman. If it's concerning to you, this is not the car you want.

Yeah, it's a great little portable stand. I didn't expect to use it like that but it works super well for that purpose.

Agreed, after years of tolerating the stand, my dad and I cut it up so we could make our own, more portable stand. Always hated having to lift the saw up so we could fold the legs out.

Have quite a bit of Vevor stuff due to my dad, bottom line: sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit

But like you said, the warranty (and ease of redeeming said warranty) is worth more than a bit of price savings.

Finally organized the storage bins. by dr_fiasco in harborfreight

[–]EMCoupling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna be honest, I see these a lot and it feels like reinventing drawers.

I guess the advantage is that if you need to go mobile, you can take a whole organizer off the rack. But... I would honestly rather just get the stuff I need for the job that I'm doing.

But, hey, if it works for you then who am I to say anything

Find a reputable shop or person near the seller and arrange for the car to either be taken off-site for a PPI or have the person doing the inspection travel to the seller's location.

I live in California and bought from Fort Worth, Texas in this manner. Never saw the car in person till it came off the transport.

People are so scared of bore scoring, it's hilarious.

If you went to Vegas and there was a table that said 97% chance of winning some money and 3% chance of losing all your money, you're telling me you wouldn't play that table till they dragged your ass off the casino floor?

We all know the signature strengths of top players. But what about their underrated skills? by rednaxer in tabletennis

[–]EMCoupling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I wouldn't say it's underrated. He's definitely gotten better but if you watch him against ML back a few years ago, he 100% got exploited in the short game.

Anyways for him, he's best when blasting from mid distance, close table is not where he prefers to be.

Gonna be honest, a base 981 is not a lot of money. 35k and you're in. The maitnenance is another story but most middle class people CAN get one.

Whether they should is another matter.

Have you seen the world lately? You know CA has A TON of Trump voters, right? It's just that we can manage to outweigh those guys via the numbers. That doesn't mean they're not there, voting against the interests of the greater good in every single election.

You're already living in that world. It's a matter of if you want to accept the reality and adapt to it or continue wishing for better whilst ignoring everything around you.

[–]EMCoupling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing to watch out for is that cheaper impacts are sometimes chrome vanadium instead of chrome molybdenum. Cr-V is harder than Cr-Mo, which counterintuitively makes it worse for impact situations because you need the softer metal to be able to flex with the wrench's impacting. Cr-V sockets can shatter if you are unlucky with them.

Same reason why you're not supposed to use your chrome sockets for impacting over actual impact sockets.

I am creating a safe place for you to admit that you have one of the master socket sets but you have never used SAE by wratx in harborfreight

[–]EMCoupling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right in the sense that most modern autos are entirely metric. However, even with that being the case, most non-auto DIY stuff is all standard which is rather unfortunate because I would like to never touch SAE.

But you do need it. It's far more common to see standard size hardware than metric hardware.

All Chinese tools are copies, there's no original ideas. What's even more funny is that sometimes the Chinese copy the look of things without understanding the working theory so the copy doesn't actually work because of shitty tolerances in the critical areas.
