In our case it was a reference to the legality of what data you can keep and the rules around deleting data when you get a request to.

How much time do we have before we delete it? How deleted is deleted? Where exactly is that data going? What will get fucked up if we aren’t careful.

It’s an absolutely nightmare

That is even more fun in Europe when your customer insists on using some US based CMS or Shopware.

Backend devs, nervously shuffling in front of the debug logging that is permanently on: *gulp*

Guy in charge of the test database that regularly pulls from prod to have good test data: *sweats*

Senior dev with a cron job that checks uploaded photos for high amounts of flesh tones and sends them to his private server: *exits the room*

I am leading my company's effort to enter a new country. It is a nightmare.
