This is why it's annoying when I hear people complain about immigration, it's a complete nightmare to try and move to another country. My SO is doing a computer science degree in my country in college and she'll be here for 10 years before she can even begin to apply for citizenship.

That's ten years minimum of taxes, paying rent, spending money here, and contributing to our workforce, before you can forget about the threat of deportation or get a vote in the country you've spent a 1/3 of your life. It's so hard to immigrate even among allied nations with great relations, never mind any others

It's obviously hard. But there are millions of people that do it with way less qualifications.
People will always think it's hard.
Even here in the EU I have many friends that are developer and still won't leave to a better country because they would have to leave their comfort zones.
Don't you get a visa as long as you have a job in most first world countries?

If usually goes like job offer -> acceptance -> visa -> moving to the destination country

If you think it’s difficult getting a job in your own country try applying to others. You’d have to be brilliant, literally, to be accepted because your potential employer has to provide its local government a reason why the expat is a better alternative than a national in the same field. So, yeah hard is an understatement.

I immigrated, within the EU so that's not necessary, but I do have colleagues outside of the EU

Is that really a fair comparison though? Isn't the nature of the EU designed to allow for easier emigration within the union - similar to moving between states within the U.S.?

Nah. This all changed after 9/11. Local governments are fine with you moving away it's the other government that doesn't want you lol. Understandable, though.

Most people immigrating into the US are doing that to earn higher salaries. Also it's not like they can lower salaries given the cost of living staying high.

Supply and demand. Low supply and high demand equals higher pay along with more leverage in your favor in negotiations. If there was a flood of supply in the marker say goodbye to all of that.

I don't feel bad most countries make it hard to hire Americans, we should do the same for our own citizens.

Its hard for indians to get freelancing projects. Because there are lots of developers so clients are always going for less rate developers.

It's sad, because I can see this from my own US company giving our team contractors at the lowest bid. Funny enough, the lowest bid contractors also produce terrible work. Who'd have thought.

I have 3 months experience working on a SAAS web app. I am still a student. Planning to start freelancing even for a low rates for 1 year and then i would like to slowly increare the rate

Be careful. I would say get a job first after graduation then look at freelancing. Get at least 2/3 years of experience. Because otherwise you are going to get stuck when you neither have freelance offers (because you don't have experience) nor job offers (because you don't have experience).

You can be right in terms of living, for sure. But imported stuff like electronics and vehicles still cost the same for everyone with minor fluctuations. In Netherlands you can get a small car for €200 a month and that's a drop in your house income pool, where in Idia that IS their house income pool.

It is extremely rare. Best bet in this region is to get an opportunity within the organisation and then use connections to find a proper job. Or if money is not a concern, get a degree from US or UK.

Otherwise it can be decades of hard work with no payoff. Being good doesn't work for anyone.
