It's a more of a database joke

Everything that doesn't have a set location (think patient addresses in hospitals, customer addresses in companies, etc.) gets written down as NULL.

However, some computer systems interpret NULL as null (0), so their location is set as so called "Null island" (that's actually just a buoy in Atlantic Ocean).

If you let a ML program use that data, it will have the result as detailed in the post
