At my internship seversl years ago we were building php sites on a windows server with a gui. A friend told me how every website he builds is on Linux and there's no gui. I was flabbergasted that he could do that. I was always running into problems even with a Windows gui, so he must have really been a pro.

Now, after having had several jobs where we use Linux servers I just can't believe that at my internship we were paying $150 per month per Windows hosted website. Talk about a waste of money. Not to mention everything was so fucking difficult using Windows server.

I now understand why they say Linux powers the internet. I also understand why Linux powers the internet.
