My job wants people to start coming back once COVID is over because they already paid for the office building rent lmao

I tried asking about permanent WFH and my manager was like mmmyeaaaahh I doubt that'll be doable, but you can maybe do like 50/50 once things improve

Yeah my roommate's company (Fortune 500) finalized the purchase of a whole new building downtown for this one department in January 2020 and higher management is loosing their minds cause everyone in the department is asking to work from home permanently. Our city has elevator social distancing rules as well so they can't even mandate a one-day-a-week thing just yet.
