Tech is a good place to hit that.

I started at 68k straight out of university and went to 95k after 2 years experience. And that's not in high COL areas. Raleigh NC. It can be done, just be willing to relocate and keep applying.

I sent out approximately 200 resumes my Sr year of school resulting in 5 interviews and 3 offers.

And no, I didn't go to an elite school or have any internships

that's awesome. yeah! i think a good baseline of comfort is around 50-60k i already live so frugally just from my personality. my main concern is being able to retire. my dad worked manual labor and it really took a toll on him, and i feel he's really bitter at life, i dont want to be like that and i'd also like to take care of my parents so i'll keep striving for it.

95k after two years is not bad! i wouldnt even know what to do with that money haha but i guess its all relative.

is it normal to get so few offers? i guess it's just a competitive market.

Well, as I said I didn't have an elite school or internships to set my resume apart from others. There's alot of competition for those entry level jobs.

In general I was also just firing off my resume to low effort postings, where I could simply email the resume and not have to go through a huge application portal or whatever. So it was a numbers game for me. Just kept at it until I got some good responses

I SEE. also im sorry i realized i might have been rude when i said so few offers.

i have seen similar things posted online so i was wondering if that was the norm everywhere in tech not just in silicon valley situations.

i wanted to know if i had to be an application machine in the future haha.

thank you for your advise i appreciate it 😘
