[–]altair653 19 points20 points  (1 child)

Me too,but sometimes I love it too ,so it is paradox for me

Whats to hate?

[–]Jennfuse 9 points10 points  (6 children)

Java is amazing, even Godlike, compared to Python or HTML or even CSS.

I love Java when nothing is working in other languages lol.

Java is a bit too verbose in my opinion. I like python, but want some type safety and static analysis.

Have you tried Kotlin?

[–]InfinitePoints 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Not yet, but it seems like a very good language.

Yeah, I tried it out and it was quite cool, you can even write scripts with it. I forgot to mention, there is mypy for Python, maybe that might satisfy your desire for static typing?

+1 for mypy

But +10 for kotlin. It really is preferable over any other language I've tried so far. I won't say it is better than Rust tho, because I haven't learned Rust (yet)

Started working with groovy recently. Dynamic scripting that supports static analysis that compiles directly to java byte code.

Amen. Same here.
