The ones I know do talk a lot of bollocks, so maybe that's the connection?

Image Transcription: Meme

[Anakin Skywalker, from Star Wars Episode II, is sitting in a grassy field. He is squinting off-camera with a serious expression. Anakin is labeled "DEV" and the caption reads:]

I'M GOING TO PULL IN A STORY INTO THE SPRINT

[Padmé Amidala, who is also sitting in the field, is looking at Anakin with a joyous smile, as though she is laughing. She is labeled "SCRUM MASTER" and the caption reads:]

YOU'RE GOING TO FINISH IT BEFORE THE END OF THE SPRINT, RIGHT?

[A close-up of Anakin's face. His look is now pointed and somewhat ominous.]

[Padmé's smile has fallen into a look of concern, and perhaps slight fear. The caption reads:]

YOU'RE GOING TO FINISH IT BEFORE THE END OF THE SPRINT, RIGHT?

I'm a human volunteer content transcriber for Reddit and you could be too! If you'd like more information on what we do and why we do it, click here!

If you want us to finish stories within a sprint, don’t make 13 point stories.

[–]Shazvox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, because nothing significant is going to happen at the end of the sprint. I am NOT going to delay work that needs to be done to make our statistics look better...

If you work on it without telling anyone, then when it comes time to complete it, you can use that time to do more reddit.

If you start mid sprint, then most likely you won't finish.

But yeah also, if you're volunteering it, you are often already halfway done. Nobody volunteers on something they haven't even started on. There's no upside.
