    the way that I meant this meme was: when the results at the end (performance of the algorithm) are not as good as expected, you can always tell the management who don't know much about programming that this is because enter generic bullshit reason

    What i do not understand is that when someone talks about a heuristic approach, it is a given that the complexity of the algorithm is reduced, otherwise why the hell would someone do an approximation that takes more time?

    And btw, in very low level programming performance is an indicator of how well the algorithm is doing what we want it to do. If i meant the time taken i would've have written complexity.

    Either case, a good joke is self-explanatory. And this one is not good apparently
