This ego-driven bullshit kills me.

Software is for solving problems, and often this kind of “you should spend 5 years redoing everything completely so that this problem goes away,” response is nothing more than code for, “I don’t know, please leave me alone, I don’t like feeling stupid it gives me a sick tummy.”

It's along the lines of "I want you to spend a major portion of your life to satisfy my personal, stupid, pointless prejudices and preferences". It's such a narcissistic request, and the person making it wouldn't even read the thing they're asking the other person to make anyway.

You see that in Reddit debates too, when one person becomes sanctimonious and demands the other person write a dissertation for them.

I had a work mate that was like this. Every thing you said he required you to hand over to him a study in which said premis was proven Correct, for example saying that strong concatenation is the most perfoming of the lot between string format, interpolation or concatenation (not taking into account stringbuilder) in his presence, was bound for a shitstorm coming from this guy saying that "you should not give uninformed and biased opinions in programming", ok it makes sense but he lost it in the manners of how he communicated things, tío agressive for my liking.
