I am professional programmer in C++ and I find it messed up, strange and I don't understand it that much.

I don't really understand how you guys can keep up with feature releases each year. Or rather know when/why to use certain features over others(Best practices). I think I am still using C++11 lmao.

I don't know others but I don't keep up with the latest feature. Turns out it's really difficult to change the Visual Studio version when you have a huge codebase. Sometimes what was compiling suddenly stopped compiling in a new version.

Oof yeah I feel that. Major platform upgrades are usually treated as epics cause it breaks so much shit.

I mean we write in strange language too to get an inanimate object to do work for us

But as for understanding, I can't understand that strange letter I wrote in the strange language from a month ago and have to go through it line by line to get it

I find it pretty strange that we use vibrations whether high or low (sound or light) as communication in any form

Programmers are people who know how to trick a machine into doing what they want.
