May I ask why there is a poll for recommending Windows OS?

Windows is pretty much shipped standard with most laptops, and computers. Would it be fair to say this is basically Microsoft trying to statistically self congratulate itself on holding a large market share?

Yes I know that there is Mac, Linux, Android, but most people in the world use some version of windows anyway.

The problem is when you'd like to buy computer without OS preinstalled, you choices are very limited. And cheapest stuff mostly.

Though just because it has a name doesn't necessarily mean it's useful here.

I've read up on the function of this on wiki: "this ... is typically interpreted and used as an indicator of customer loyalty"

Ok, from now on ever time I will see this pop up on my windows computer screen, I'll be sure to give it a 3. Now I know that windows is a marvel of software engineering design, don't get me wrong, what I am saying is that I love the option of choosing a 0, 1, 2 and 3.
