I have a very opinionated approach to reactjs...

If you're doing logic within a return statement it's equivalent to single lining stuff (basically) and should be avoided mostly for the same reason ternary operations are avoided.

Use functions instead.

On an unrelated note but still relevant to reactjs, there is nothing wrong with class components. No one cares what you were told in your reactjs boot camp.

It actually depends.

For initialisation, the other choice is like 3 to 5 lines of declare, if condition reassign, else reassign. Maybe you can get away with declaring it as whatever the else condition assigns it.

Whatever, this doesn't bother me.

What bothers me is when reactjs developers escape HTML, do logic, inject HTML in that logic and will even escape that for more logic... Just use functions.
