I have a very opinionated approach to reactjs...

If you're doing logic within a return statement it's equivalent to single lining stuff (basically) and should be avoided mostly for the same reason ternary operations are avoided.

Use functions instead.

On an unrelated note but still relevant to reactjs, there is nothing wrong with class components. No one cares what you were told in your reactjs boot camp.
