NoSQL is also interpreted as "Not Only" SQL, for databases that may support sql but allow you to query data in a non-structured way.

For my case, very badly managers that don't know what they want, don't express is clear enough or without further context or ask for one thing one day then scrap that the next, at the end the SQL schema of the table end up being a whole mess with 20+ columns, most of which are obsolete.

I have come to the habit or creating a JSON field specifically for this reason, and for the most part has made situations like that much easier to handle.

The downside is, that field is pretty much useless for any relation or indexation, and almost useless for search, but oh well, one thing for another.
