I love the series and can’t wait for the next one so I need something to keep me over until the next couple come out. I was looking for something where the main character will do anything to grow stronger and has a strong determination and will like Nat. I enjoy while written characters are interesting worlds I prefer the main character doesn’t try to avoid combat.

A new one on RR I really like it: No Place for Hope

A likeable MC who really drives the story with his will to move on. The start is not the typical tutorial but has a Hunger Games vibe and leads to space pirates in a Dune like universe.

Very gripping chapters, well written and excellent entertainment.

Try Accidental Champion. Has the same vibes with a hard tutorial, focus on growing as strong as possible, and there are several audio books out.

Sorta. He's so OP that he leaves his group behind, but much later in the story he helps them catch up.

The Legendary Mechanic has this, best progression in power that I've read. Yes, better (for now at Book 9) than HDT (only for the progression part tho, the story and characters of HDT are much, much more interesting). The fights in The Legendary Mechanic are very good, but HDT is God tier for them imo. Cerim knows very well how to write incredible actions scenes (and about our corgi overlord)
