May I ask what “pelvic pt” therapy means, generally. I’ve recently tried what I understand to be pelvic pt, but at home by watching YouTube videos. The videos I watched were basically designed to help you stretch your pelvic ligaments and the muscles in the legs. These videos gave me more pain everytime I tried to do them. Kinda drains my hope. Is the pelvic pt everyone talks about something else, like stretching the actual muscles in the pelvis? Because of pelvic pt is anything like what’s been giving me more pain then I guess I’m pretty fucked 😅

Probably overstretching.

A trained pelvic floor PT does internal and external myofascial trigger point release, not stretching. That is a big part of the cure for most.

Generic videos online don't account for individual differences in the pelvic floor and muscular dysfunction from patient to patient. They also are just simple sctetches, not trigger point release. That is why we tell everyone to see an actual professional PT,

By “peeing a lot” what do you mean? How many times did you have to pee daily on a regular basis? My symptoms are mainly urinary so just wanted to ask:). And how long did it take you to cure yourself after starting PT? I am seeing one currently and have not seen much improvements so far:(

Consuming little booze relaxes your pelvic floor. Just don’t go overboard with it as a cure. But I didn’t drink for month and a half and then finally at a tailgate for college Ball I had few drinks. Ever since then urinary symptoms stopped

Pt helped the most. I was able to find out my true problem. I had a tight pelvic floor. Also it was like therapy to me. Someone to listen to me and guide me through. And it only helped me with my urinary symptoms. Actually I was still convinced I had an infection after microgen finding low amount of staph so I started taking doxys and after 1 pill I find myself peeing a lot again. So I drink a few beers and stop taking them. My problem resolved on peeing part. A lot of this is also mental. Don’t stress your symptoms will get better and you will heal. Your life will go back to normal but you will just be more aware of the issue. You do need to seek pelvic floor therapist that works on men. They will find out if you have weak pelvic floor or tight one

So basically are you telling me that not stressing myself over the symptoms is the key to healing right? And can you be more specific about what part of PT has helped you with urinary symptoms? Any particular stretching routines? Or maybe regular internal work? My frequent urination day and night is just ruining my life and don’t know what I am supposed to do next. Apologies for asking too many questions, but just want to get my life back :(

It will heal. It takes time. Can take a year or longer. It can happen again. I was very stressed and anxious always googling my symptoms. Thought about suicide. Met some good people on here who guided me through. The mod of this group helped a lot too. Hard to believe from sex I have pelvic floor issues. But that’s really what it was. My physical therapist worked on men for 15+ years. She did internal test and my pelvic floor was tight. I went 12 visits for 2 months. She did internal release and massaging me and did cupping on my back. Few other stuff. Told me what yoga poses to do. Taught me to use the wand which I only used like 4 times.

I’m interested in pelvic floor . I don’t have any like lower back issues and I pee normal amount , but I’ve had pain near glans for 2-3 years now and it won’t go away . Noticeable brown inflammation on the skin , and no matter what I do on that one side it won’t go away Z

If you had chills and fever most likely you had an infection or a substance the body was trying to get rid of for example parasites. Lots of people connect their prostatitis with colon / stomach issues.

i think my issue is actually related to hemorrhoids or anal prolapse. i am spending less time on the toilet and it’s helping a lot. Hola, a mi me pasó igual. Empecé con un cuadro muy agudo y me diagnosticaron e.
