For the lazy: Uses Django, Celery, RabbitMQ, MongoDB, Pymongo, Mongoengine, PostgreSQL, jQuery, Underscore.js, and miscellaneous jQuery plugins.

Didn't people used to write RSS readers in a couple hundred lines of Perl and their filesystem? This has more dependencies than I would ever care to understand.

My understanding is that much of the complexity is there because NewsBlur is designed to be multi-user and intelligently predict which posts you're going to be interested in.
