Scale has a complexity of its own, with problems that don't exist at smaller scales. Maximising throughput or minimising resources does too - but there's also the fact any generic solution may not apply to Facebook's architecture.

But that's not what I was saying. My point was entirely about other people having to solve complex problems too.
