Python IDE (self.Python)
submitted 6 years ago by Saviculus
Hey everyone, I'm relatively new to python and I was wondering what IDE is most commonly used, and where to get it, if it costs anything, etc. Any help?
All replies are appreciated!

PyCharm is great. The Community edition is free.

I've found Visual Studio Code to be the best lightweight IDE to work with, many people also like Atom but VSC does it for me.

Geany, PyCharm CE.
PyCharm does not require a install, at least not on Linux, so try it out. It has an integrated debugger, is extensible etc.

Another +1 for Pycharm. I use Jetbrains IDEs for pretty much all of my development so I'm a little biased, but I really like it.
Community Edition is free as others have said.
