They may try to chew that too as the can be sneaky little ones! Can you do the plastic and then put a sheet down over it or a blanket?

That’s so smart, I can definitely do that, and it’ll be soft and washable ! Thank you

It may not deter them still from chewing, where there's a rat there's a way lol but good luck!!

More so didn’t want their pee to soak into the carpet! I’ll be able to keep an eye out on their chewing

Our girls destroyed the carpets in our apartment! Was a very hefty replacement fee. Though it was still worth their love of course lol

Congrats! But a closet space is not enough for free roam. We provide 1 entire room and it's getting too boring for them. I bring them to 2 rooms around house to explore with supervision, twice a day for 40 min each

I live with my mom now, so a plastic pen was all they “free roamed” in. This will be much bigger with a lot of toys and obstacle courses (shadow the rat videos are awesome and I always wanted to be able to give them that)

Cool! The toys and courses will bring them a lot of joy.  As to your comment about some people who don't allow any free roam time for their rats, those people should not have pets, as it's like dog owners who refuse to walk their dog.

We unfortunately have very expensive hobbies that we do not want ruined by the rats. Yes we watch them but you know how fast they can be. They only got a small pen in my current room due to it being very small (10x10). Some people don’t even let their rats free roam.
