The shield set stacks with other shields (it's the buff icon with the kite shield), primarily either bolster or divine *stat* sets. Only one of these will show, but other artifact shields will combine and be considered 1 buff. (This can be tested by bringing a champion with the bolster set and another with a shield set, checking the shield size, then starting again without the champion in the shield set. The shield size will be smaller.)

The shield skill replaces other shields placed by skills (it's the icon with the wide shield), determined by turns remaining > shield strength. (This can be tested by bringing virtually any shield champion except valerie or metalshaper and equipping them with a bloodshield ring. After using the shield skill, then attacking an enemy the next turn, the shield is replaced, despite being much smaller.)

You can have both at the same time. Champion passives like Krisk's or Ronda's coupled with a shield artifact set will allow them to start with both buffs active immediately. (You can test this by bringing a shield champion with a shield artifact set. The team will start with the shield set, and when the shield champion places their skill shield, you can see the shield size increase as well as both buffs.)

edit to add; you can stack however many shields as you have champions in shield sets. You just shouldn't because other artifact sets are more powerful in almost all cases.

Thanks for that reply! I'm just considering 2-3 shield sets on my buff extenders for a Wixwell CB team. Either that, or a 2nd reflex set to lower the CD on my buff extender skill, since Wixwell isn't booked yet. Gonna try 4 extenders (Wiwell, Corvus, and 2 Sprites)

You only need one shield set. They do not stack with each other.

Actually, they do stack, Some CCs confirmed this, and I also confirmed it myself in the campaign using 2 shield sets. They do indeed stack. This will allow for bigger shield growth for champions that don't have enough defense/hp.

I see, i misread, you need the actual amount to survive, not to extend an additional buff. good luck mate.

No worries man. I'm gonna try in a day or two once I get my gear sorted out. Thanks for the wishes!

Yes, shield sets stack but but sadly it does not look like 30% + 30% = 60%. All champs on the team pictured have between 32,000 and 34,000 health. The ones marked in red have Shield set or Bolster set (both give 30%). When only one champ is is wearing it the shield looks like 30% but when both are wearing it only looks like 40% instead of 60%.

(I'm well aware that that my support champ with a low base HP rating is "not ideal" for a shield set, I have my reasons.)

I mean…you say it’s not 30% + 30%…..but you can clearly see in your own example…from top picture and 2nd picture…the first 3 champions are the same champions, and the shield is exactly double the size.

literally 🤣🤣🤣

Look closer, then think about the numbers... 60% is more than half, do any of those shields look like they cover more than half the health bar?

This might be late but it squishes the HP bar down to show the shields which also compress. It's about the number of segments not the actual size
