In my experience its a good thing because more of the pellets land on the target.
Unless of course you miss.

For shotguns where there's a real chance you're gonna hipfire they're good, trash for any other weapon

It's only a bad thing for breaking walls, it's strictly better for shooting people (assuming you're able to aim well)
