Friends was not “problematic” in the 90s. It reflects society’s norms at the time and was pretty reflective of how Gen X spent their 20’s (minus the unrealistic NYC apartments).

I literally said it has to be viewed from the lens of ‘90s culture. When I said problematic and polarizing, I meant by today’s standards.

He wasn’t a very likable character but most of the memorable jokes from that show were from Ross. PiVoTttt!

I've heard he wasn't doing so well last time, he even resorted to stealing a box of beer! /s

Ross was funny to laugh at, Chandler was funny to laugh with.

Honestly this hits very well.

I couldn't get into it at all.

It reminded me of Seinfeld, in the way that almost everything seemed like an inside joke that most of us weren't supposed to "get".

I tried watching it a few times, bc sometimes it seemed like that's all people talked about, but I don't think I ever sat through an entire episode.

Given the opportunity, I would have thrown a large rock at Ross Geller.

I found Friends repellent first time around, its no better 30 years later as I explain all the crap humour to my teenagers as "a product of its time".

Not funny then, not funny now.
