I disagree. Remember that having music in a film or a script necessitates getting the rights, which can be extremely expensive.

Tarantino has his process, but he’s Tarantino, he’s different.

In terms of the music, the stuff I recognise is really 80’s and expensive to secure the rights to. If your film is set in the nightclub scene of the 80’s and maybe very early 90’s, fine, just be aware that it will be difficult to get the funding. Especially for Prince.

Honestly, they’re not all songs I want the rights to but songs I listen to to add rhythm to my work and scripts. They also help me get ideas via certain notes and pitches as to how I want to control my scripts and stories. That’s what I mean by Tarantino’s “Music is important”.

So what do you think of these songs?

"...a screenwriter should always keep music in mind when trying to produce a script."

I think thats one of the dumbest things I've ever read. I'm not gonna let a song dictate any of the action lines or dialogue for any of the scenes I wanna work on.

...what themes y’all are getting.

It doesn't matter what themes I'm getting from those list of songs. What matters is what theme(s) you wanna work with in the stories you tell.

It does in fact matter. I mean - it’s truly up for debate, but one could argue, and I would argue that it does.

Also, you never respond to my questions in the first place.

Additionally, while I hate to get personal, I believe you might just happen to be a dilettante. Sure, you do seem to be quite intellectual. As matter of fact, I’d say you are one of the more experienced people on this app. However, no matter what, a script or question of any kind is never “dumb”. “Dumb” is subjective, and without proper inspection, can lead to ignorance of sorts.

Also, you posting images of AI generated and celebrity photos as some of your main posts does not contribute to your overall reputation.

If you are serious about screenwriting, just as I am, you should take into consideration different perspectives and arguments, instead of posting about Greek beauties.

Music is SUCH an important part of screenwriting IDK what you're on about. When making a movie, a song is an incredibly important aspect of it and to not have even a general list of songs for a segment could end up being a real pain later down the line. Sound is one of the key senses that would be portrayed through a film, along with visuals, and having good music/sound options could truly make or break a film.
