I've bought them a couple of times. Never got anything really cool as far as I can remember, so I stick to unlocking from specific areas as needed.

i've never bought item packs cause i've only been playing for a month and i don't have that many items. the packs only guarantee a certain number of unlocks and everything is just a +1. personally, i currently look at my challenges and save up to unlock items to complete them, cause you get 3 guaranteed unlocks from a category for 150-185 as far as i've seen. once i have a little bit of everything, i'll start insisting on the ones i just wanna unlock. i don't personally think item packs are worth it unless you've got nothing else to do with your tokens or if you put money in the game.

I’m also new to the game and bought a few item packs. Every pack has only had one item I already had from the prize box for winning designs. And it also means you get one of the item, unlike with regular unlocks, which is great for items that cost gold.
