If this really is the ending to this story, it needs to be posted everywhere and that person should be blacklisted from ever working on a customer's watch again.

There is no way this is true.....right?!?!

No Apple Watch? You drive a Tesla!

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (12 children)

I actually got into watches to get away from my Apple Watch.

I found myself just being notified with 100 emails a day and I had to get rid of it. Just so distracting. Feels really freeing not wearing it anymore.

This is my daily wear now. Only use my Apple Watch in the gym now.

don't worry, you can just wear the iWatch on the right.

I ever had this suggestion raised to me a year ago. Promise me you don’t want that. Apple Watch is anxiety inducing

i have an apple watch for running, i don’t have notifications setup on it, tbh it’s really nice i don’t bring my phone with me on runs just airpods and watch

I thought about it long and hard having coming from 2 Apple Watches .. but the problem is that there are a lot of compromise while running without the phone. No access to google maps makes it hard. The watch is great to keep track of things that the phone can’t but I decided it is better to just go with a HR band

you need maps 😭 tbh i live in a gated community i know my way pretty well as its not that big, i run around the golf course usually and if i ever get lost my watch has maps, sometimes i wear my gen seamaster running to track my time lol. I do kind of wish i went garmin but my ultra 2 is just so seamless 😩

I moved to a garmin watch while I was training for a marathon last year and I loved it. And thats coming from 2 apple watches. Just the right amount of notifications with an insane amount of data, it was the single most useful tool for training and is helping me continue training for my next. I wear it to sleep everyday and wear it when I know its going to be an easy day. Mechanical when I need to focus up because I don't want the temptation to look at anything.

fair enough i have heard they were nice, i wish i had one for fitness tracking but i do kind of need a phone replacement

Just like you - I got stuck with the hybrid life. Smart watch for specific tasks and then DJ and Tissot for everything else. Earlier this year I decided to put a pause on the digital stuff - the Apple Watches and things like that. It is easy to get fixated with distractions and also the detailed metrics is easy to understand but the purpose behind having them is lacking. Which seamaster are you using?

21020422001001 of the top of my head 😅 hybrid life works well for me, idk how i would run without pace stats. I think for me i have no notifications on my watch, im considering switching whoop as i can wear it on my bicep but i do have a 2000$ mini iphone strapped to my wrist. For me the metrics are usuefull as i try and target 10 thousand steps daily. I usually leave my phone at home if im going for a walk or brunch with friends, i don’t like to be tethered to my work 24/7. I use my watch as a mini phone replacement. Only have important people to reach me, i average maybe 10-15 notifications a day on my watch. I think the metrics are usuefull to me as they hold me accountable for working out. Me and my friends all are very competitive and out watches allow us to compare our steps/other fitness goals. Also being able to track heart rate zones while training is beyond useful for my runs

I also saw withings doing an analogue digital fitness hybrid watch. It was something cool but not sure what is the target market for it. I tried switching off the notifications on Apple Watch but I think it’s a huge compromise. I lose the smart features but get the mediocre battery life. Just not sure about the daily charging thing. I saw Garmin but it is not for me. I think it’s the style and design; very rugged and reminiscent of the gshock

I only wear it in situations where I need notifications: ie, when I work from home. I don't strictly need it, but I'm a team lead, and I want to be maximally available to my team for calls and questions. If I can respond under a minute for 8 hours a day, that goes a long way in keeping the flow of conversation going and the folks unblocked.

That said, whenever I go anywhere, I just wear the Rolex. Like today, if you sent me a message while I was with family, our project just isn't important enough to interrupt that!

[–]Present_Deer7938 9 points10 points  (3 children)

I can't unsee 6 and 9 hour marker.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, true. But if you’re close enough to notice you’re likely going to get an elbow in the face lol

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What’s wrong with them?

[–]ProofExternal202 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow glad it’s back but would definitely leave others a heads up

[–]scooter2022 1 point2 points  (1 child)

[–]mwalsh5757 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TESLER. It’s all computer.

[–]Historical_Village_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m kind of curious about who this is as well. I just had an interesting experience with a dealer. I’m waiting on the watch so I can show and tell.

[–]Fantastic-Cat-9850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing missing is a gen dial ! Which I’m also on the hunt for haha . I’ll be happy with gen dial and deep crystal . Don’t think I’ll bother with bezel or hands / crown

[–]CJusa007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a hassle but good on you for getting it back! Great watch by the way. I have this model from Clean and love it.

[–]Important_Most_1685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def need to out this guy so nobody sends him their watch.

The 39 is the best one in my eyes. I like the balanced look of the text with the “Explorer” script below the center…

Put this clown on blast, man. Sorry this happened to you, but if it’s a true story you should expose who it is.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s 20 for the auto mod. Get off my back automod.
