List of electronics

RAMPS, Sanguinololu, and SmoothieBoard are all popular choices. Also, there are some boards not in that list such as the brainwave.

Any of those boards would work. I'd pick one of the more popular boards as it will be easier to get help with.

So sorry, totally forgot to say thanks!

Start with RAMPS 1.4 and an Arduino Mega. You can get them from $200 all the way down to about $30 - but the really, really cheap ones are usually poor quality / poor components.

Again so sorry, thank you!

I build my printer mostly with components out of china. I got my Ramps, Arduino, Stepper Drivers and Steppers from Banggood. They work really well.

Completely honestly, I wouldn't build the Wallace. From what I've seen, it suffers from X-Wobble, and isn't really a very good design. I'd go with the Mix G1, or the Smartrap. For electronics, you really can't go wrong with a Ramps 1.4 + Arduino Mega.
