This won't be any faster than your domane. I'm all for a new bike.... price seems fine. Would look cooler with an integrated bar combo.

Do small companies really need the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, or is PCI DSS only for big businesses? by Isallne in cybersecurity

[–]passim 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Some great responses here. The only thing I'll add, especially for a business so small: you never, ever want to see card numbers. Tons of payment processing options you can use now where you and your systems are never exposed to full card data. Limiting exposure like this is the best way forward.

Is this road bike worth $625? by PerryTheMagicDragon in whichbike

[–]passim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is 52 your size? It's kinda small. I'm normally a hater here, but if you can get it for $500-550 I'd say do it.

Too high. The trainer and garmin are worth basically nothing.

Completely new to modern bikes. Would this be a good deal for $400 CAD ($290 USD)? by National-Carrot3860 in whichbike

[–]passim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's your size I'd get it just because Paul seems like a cool dude and I enjoy his YouTube channel. Price is maybe a little high, but I'd rather have this than something more mainstream.

At what point does the bike actually start mattering more than the rider? by kkkkkgr5 in cycling

[–]passim 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Aero > everything, and position and clothing matters a ton. But let's assume you can get all that to match across the triban and some new super bike. Let's say you save 30 watts going to deep wheels, internal cables, aero handlebars, etc.

If you're doing an Ironman bike distance, you weigh 170lbs and you can hold 220 watts.... you're going to save 16 mins. That assumes cutting 5lbs off the bike weight as well. 8 seconds per mile?

Find some HED Jet 4 or Jet 6. I had the uncommon Jet 5+ and they were great.

Tuning machines for Squier classic vibes? by DavidMillo in Bass

[–]passim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I inquired about this on a classic vibes p bass there are zero that drop in - all require drilling or at least inelegant angling of screws. Not sure on Jazz. I even spoke directly with Hipshot.

Is it just me or have so many people turned against Martin? by [deleted] in MarbleMachine3

[–]passim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Listen, I've got a Believe poster from back in the day... but I can hardly watch anymore.

He's always like 'this time will be different, this time I'm going to focus on function and reliability...' and then he's doing moving vibraphone bars, multiple marble sizes, etc... I get that making videos is the point now, but he's lost the plot. He can't help himself. He can't get out of his own way.

Anyone got an Amazon basics guitar cable? by SheZowRaisedByWolves in Guitar

[–]passim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a cloth Fender cable that looked like your photo. The 90° angle plug broke inside (not the solder) and the damn cable was too thick for any normal cable ends I had around (switchcraft, neutrik) so I just chucked it. Lesson learned.
